Well you shouldn’t be – nearly all marketers are increasing their lead generation budgets for social media and blogs! The average company actually increased their spending from 9% to 18% on social media from 2009 to 2011. In fact, small businesses, like many of the ones we work with here at Tarte are spending THREE times more on social media than larger businesses! (via HubSpot) I found it interesting that 75% of social media advertising is used for acquisition and 65% for retention, versus 85% of email marketers use email for acquisition and 90% for retention.
